I decided to make a fanart after watching this movie. Honestly, my mind's just blown and I couldn't process what I watched so I had to search for explanation vids on YouTube after the movie. It's probably one of the best animated films of its time, and it's said to be the one of the most influential. Akira was also the pioneer in introducing the cyberpunk genre.

Trivia: the plot of the movie takes place 31 years in Tokyo after World War III, which is 2019 (this year). Akira also predicted the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. How cool is that?
