So I made a tribute to the iconic psychological thriller / anime cult classic "ππ¦π³π§π¦π€π΅ πππΆπ¦" by Satoshi Kon.
This is one of the best anime films imo! If you've already watched Perfect Blue, then you can identify some key components in this illustration. Aside from watching the movie, I had to listen to movie analysis videos for hours (while drawing) just so I could get the narrative of the film and its elements.
A notable feature in the movie is Kon's usage of color theory. The most prominent color used is red so I had to incorporate the blood-red shade in the artwork. The cracks serve as a mirror, which also plays a v important part in the film. And lastly, the illustration shows three versions of Mima, the protagonist in Perfect Blue.
Satoshi Kon's other notable films include the famous Paprika, Tokyo Godfathers, and Millenium Actress.
